Give up the bottle
50 million bottles from shampoo & conditioner are used in New Zealand alone every year, destined for recycling facilities (where they are often shipped offshore and left to languish) or put in landfill. That’s why it is so important that you help the planet and #giveupthebottle.
Plastic is streaming into our oceans at an alarming rate, to the point that by 2050, scientists estimate there will be more plastic in the ocean, than fish. Some of the biggest polluters are plastic bags, bottles & interestingly enough, lip balm tubes.
We don’t think this is acceptable and this is why we encourage you to join us and #giveupthebottle.
Why pay for water?
An average shampoo or bodywash can be made up of up to 80% water. Conditioner is even higher, at up to 95%. It doesn’t make sense to pay for water, package it in plastic bottles and use harsh chemicals to preserve it, when there is water in your shower already.
A conditioning bar is equivalent to five bottles of liquid conditioner, often lasting up to twelve months.
When you #giveupthebottle and move into solid products you are not only giving up plastic, but harsh chemical preservatives & fillers.
Thus far we have prevented 150,000 bottles, jars & tubes from being made and disposed of. By 2020, we aim to have hit 1 million. Join us. #giveupthebottle.
