Lots of you are interested in Ethique’s journey and as we approach our new lab opening party, it seems a fitting time to keep you updated. It’s been a tumultuous year full of the most exciting opportunities, some daunting challenges with the only real constant being that nothing is constant!

The biggest change is of course our relocation. Those of you who visited us at our Wilsons road location will have noticed how small it was (just 93 sqm.) We’re now in Wigram in a facility that is over eight times the size. Other than the increased capacity, one of the biggest changes is no longer being able to take three steps across the room to speak to someone. Finding people in such a vast space is challenging but it’s such a nice place to come to work to- I finally have my own office I can fill with various samples and half-drunk cups of tea!

We are having a launch party on the 28 th September but we do have limited capacity unfortunately and have already hit the limit. Those of you who are interested but missed out, don’t worry, we will have plenty of milestones to celebrate with you over the next few years.

The increased capacity is sorely needed as we’re growing just as rapidly as last year, particularly offshore. We’ve partnered with  Nourished Life (based in Sydney) to service the Australian demand for us, which is growing by the day. NL was founded by Irene Falcone who is passionate about providing affordable, natural and healthy products for almost everything you could ever need. She launched the company almost at the same time I started Ethique and has grown it phenomenally quickly to be the leading online store for natural products in Australia.

I can’t say too much about the most recent development but for our home crowd, we’ve got some exciting retailers coming up around NZ. If you like to smell, touch, taste (please don’t) the bars before your buy, we will have a much larger retail presence over the next six months.

Those of you not based in New Zealand or Australia will be excited to hear that very soon it will be even easier to get your hands on our clever little bars. We launch on Amazon in October through our US distributor, Pharmapacks who are the largest online pharmacy in the USA. We’ll be going live across Amazon.com in the US and Canada as well as eventually parts of Europe and Asia. We’ll also be available via Walmart.com should that be your preference. This is a huge deal so we’re all concentrating on ensuring we can meet the demand so we can encourage so many more of you to give up the bottle! We will announce when the listings are up so stay tuned.

If you’ve been keeping an eye on our social media you may have seen some of the press coverage we’ve been receiving around the world too. Very excited to announce that Yoga Journal Magazine have named our Sweet & Spicy Shampoo and Guardian Conditioner as their best shampoo & conditioner for 2017.

I’ve got some exciting products planned for roll out over the next six months, some of them suggested by you. I won’t steal Gen’s thunder, but they will see some colour added to the range, there is something for those of you with super dry hair, a deodorant tweak (making it easier to use) and something to get you dirty.

Thank you as always for your support, feedback and ideas. Ethique has grown as quickly as it has through the passion of the team and our supporters. We are always listening, so please reach out if you have any suggestions.

Brianne is our founder and managing director. She started Ethique in 2012 out of frustration with the disgraceful amount of packaging produced by the cosmetics industry. A qualified scientist, Brianne formulates all our products and runs the show. Brianne has started and sold two other small companies but is now devoted to ridding the world of plastic bottles (well the cosmetic ones anyway).
